Strata homes

Most Vancouver sales are strata. Read the depreciation report, recent minutes, the contingency fund and the bylaws on rentals and pets before you firm up.

Empty homes

The City of Vancouver's Empty Homes Tax and BC's Speculation and Vacancy Tax can apply to homes that sit empty. Plan for them if the home will not be your main residence.

Changing zoning

City rules now allow multiplexes on many lots that used to be single-family only, which can change what a property is worth to builders.
